BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Six student-athletes from the Western Kentucky University swimming and diving team have been named Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). In addition, the WKU women were chosen as a Scholar All-America Team.
To qualify for Scholar All-America recognition, the student-athlete must have a 3.5 or higher GPA and have competed at the NCAA Championships. The CSCAA also recognizes an Honorable Mention squad for those not making the NCAAs. To qualify as a team, the squad must hold a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Five Lady Topper were named to the women's Scholar All-America Honorable Mention: Claire Conlon, Amy Halligan, Susan Marquess, Hilary Mishler and Hannah Runyon-Hass. On the men's side, Heitor Rodrigues was also named an Honorable Mention.
The Lady Toppers were named to the CSCAA Team Scholar All-America Award list with a 3.30 GPA. The Lady Toppers won the Sun Belt Conference title in March.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
