We understand that food is fuel. A fuel that propels an athlete to achieve a strong and well-nourished body while cultivating a healthy mind. These factors are key to optimal sports performance and recovery on and off the field/court. Nutrition can often times be the “missing link” for athletes. With our food first approach, we use the most up to date research to fuel our athletes and empower them toward a successful career.
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
We provide nutrition presentations to all teams at WKU. In these sessions, basic nutrition is explained to the student athletes. Simple topics such as hydration, macronutrients, proper meal timing, recovery strategies and proper food choices are discussed. The end goal is for the student athletes to learn more about basic nutrition so that they can apply it now and promote a future healthy lifestyle.
Individual sessions may include weight gain/loss, fueling for performance, body composition goals, or any sports nutrition questions. We work one on one to help ensure all of the student athletes are able to perform at their best. We also provide medical nutrition therapy for those with medical conditions, such as diabetes, GERD, high cholesterol, disordered eating, food allergies/intolerances, etc. If an injury should happen, we provide education on how to excel healing so that the athlete recovers as quickly as possible.
