Four of WKU's (29-10 overall, 12-6 CUSA) six runs came from the long ball thanks to Maci Masters and Lauren Satterly. Erica Houge limited the Flames (20-21 overall, 13-5 CUSA) to just two runs after throwing her 10th complete game of the season.Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
The Hilltoppers struck first in the top of the second with a home run from Masters, her 13th on the season. Morgan Sharpe reached earlier in the inning with a double to right center to help Masters push WKU's lead to 2-0.Â
Liberty threatened for the first time in the home half of the frame with bases loaded and only one out, but Katie Murphy ended the threat with a double play at third and home.Â
The Flames leveled the score in the bottom of the third with a two-run long ball of their own.Â
Annie White put a Hilltopper aboard with a walk and Satterly's second home run of the season came at the perfect time as the freshman sent another two-run home run over the right field wall. The freshman's home run marked the 50th of the season for the Hilltoppers, and the team is now tied for the most home runs in a single season.Â
Three straight singles in the top of the sixth from Anna Mauck, Kendle White, and Jenna Blanton would have loaded the bases, but a throwing error during Blanton's single allowed Mauck to score for the fifth run of the game.Â
Annie White added the final run of the day to the board with a deep sacrifice fly to right field to score Kendle White.Â
The Flames loaded the bases again in the sixth, but back-to-back plays at the plate prevented a run from scoring. In the final inning, Liberty recorded a double, but any chance of scoring was extinguished by Houge.Â

QUOTABLEÂ
"I'm really proud of how we bounced back today," said WKU Softball head coach, Amy Tudor. "We hit the ball really well over the weekend but we really couldn't manufacture runs. Today we used the long ball and short game to get runs on the board. Just really proud of our offense, we made great defensive plays, and Erica really held it down in the circle."Â
