ABOUT THE TOPS Â
- WKU Softball sits squarely in third place in the Conference USA standings after a 1-2 weekend against Liberty. Overall, the Tops have a 29-10 record, and a 12-6 record in CUSA play.Â
- The highlight of the weekend was Sunday, when Lauren Satterly hit her second home run of the season to tie the program's all-time single season record in team home runs. Satterly's home run was the 50th of the season. WKU last hit 50 home runs in the 2013 and 2017 seasons.
- Jenna Blanton and Annie White are some of the best hitters in the conference, ranking second (.437) and third (.417) respectively in batting average. Â
- Blanton also paces WKU's offense with a team-leading 55 hits.Â
- Six of WKU's starting lineup are hitting over .300, Jenna Blanton leads at .437. Annie White: .417, Morgan Sharpe: .386, Kendle White: .341, Maci Masters: .324, and Anna Mauck: .310.Â
- Annie White also boasts the best on-base percentage in all of CUSA with a .521.Â
- As of April 14, WKU Softball has the program's best single-season batting average (.338) and slugging percentage (.549) and is currently ranked second all-time in on-base percentage (.403). The highest single-season batting average is .331, and the highest slugging percentage is .489. The best all-time on-base percentage is .410 and all three records were set in 2020. However, the 2020 season was only 25 games long due to the pandemic and the 2026 squad is set to play at least 50 games this season.Â
- WKU still remains one of eight programs in the top 30 nationally in both ERA and batting average. Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, Florida, Arkansas, and Virginia Tech make up the remaining members. Â
- WKU is currently 20-1 at home and needs only four more wins in Bowling Green to earn the best home record in WKU Softball history. The current best home record is 23-2 set by the 2022 team.Â
- The Hilltoppers' ERA is currently 19th in the country, and their batting average is 28th. WKU's ERA currently bests Oklahoma, ranked 23rd.Â
- WKU has never had more than two players reach double-digit home runs in a single season, and the Tops have the potential to have four reach that benchmark (Maci Masters, Annie White, Kennedy Stinson, and Kendle White).Â
