BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU Softball head coach Amy Tudor is excited to announce the addition of Taylor Proctor Hunt to the coaching staff.
Hunt will serve as the director of softball operations and will work with the defense and catchers.
Hunt returns to The Hill after spending the last year as an assistant coach at South Warren High School. During the 2026 season, Hunt helped the Spartans to a 2026 KHSSA state championship and coached incoming freshman Layla Ogden, who was named the Class 3A Player of the Year.
Prior to her time with the Spartans, Hunt spent three years as the head coach at Greenwood High School from 2020-2022.
Hunt spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Hilltoppers at catcher and posted a career-best .221 batting average during her senior season. In 2017, she started and played all 61 games, grabbing 34 hits in 154 at-bats. Hunt finished her senior campaign slashing .221/.375/.325 and was named to the 2017 CUSA All-Tournament Team.
Hunt graduated from WKU in 2017 with a degree in Physical & Health Education and again from WKU in 2019 with a master's degree in Teacher Leadership.
"I am thrilled to welcome Taylor Hunt back as our director of softball operations/assistant coach," said Tudor. "Seeing former players return and join the coaching side is rewarding. Taylor brings experience, dedication, and a love for the game. I'm confident she will positively impact our program."
"WKU has always been a special place to me because it's where I grew as both a player and a person," Hunt said. "Having the opportunity to return and coach alongside the people who coached and mentored me is incredibly meaningful. I'm grateful for the chance to give back to a program that has had such a lasting impact on my life!"
