WKU finished with 10 goals which are the second most in the 25 year history of the program. As a team, the Hilltoppers finished with 22 total shots and 14 on goal.
Camryn Davis and Georgia Liapis led the offensive effort, each recording a hat-trick Liapis scored all three of her goals in the second half. Two more Hilltoppers in Danielle Lewin and Ashton Lynam finished with one goal apiece.
HOW IT HAPPENED
WKU opened up the scoring in the first minute with a Davis goal. Davis would follow up with two more for her first hat-trick and Lewin would record her first goal as a Hilltopper all in the first 12 minutes. An own goal would put WKU up 5-0 at the 34 minute mark.
Lynam would score the sixth goal of the match for WKU, her first of the season in the 42nd minute. WKU would take the 6-0 lead into the break. WKU managed 10 total shots in the first half with five shots on goal, all resulting in goals. Camryn Davis led the team with three goals on three shots. Two of the five goals were assisted.
The first goal of the second half came in the 56th minute when an own goal put the Tops ahead 7-0. Three minutes later Liapis notched her first goal of the season, putting WKU in front 8-0.
Liapis would score her second goal of the day in the 83rd minute for a 9-0 lead. Liapis would follow that up with another, marking the second hat-trick of the game for WKU.Â

QUOTABLE
On the performance head coach Jason Neidell said "Today was a really good bounce-back effort for us. That's the kind of positive response we wanted to see from our team. All of our healthy players got minutes and some of our younger players really grew into the game."
"It was a really good team performance and something that we can build on heading into week two. We'll have a long drive home tonight and a day off tomorrow before getting back to work," Neidell added.
