ABOUT THE TOPS
- Leading things off for the Lady Tops, senior Catie Craig is at the top of the card. Craig is coming off of a successful Boilermaker Classic where she tied for 21st. The senior put in six birdies and scored a 226 total score in WKU's opening tournament.
- Sydney Hackett is next on the card for WKU. The junior was the team's top finisher in the Boilermaker Classic, tying for fourth. Hackett was one of seven players in the field to put in an eagle.
- Junior Averi Cline returns to the lineup for WKU after tying for 30th in the Boilermaker Classic.
- Nina McMurtrey goes into Louisville off of a top 50 finish for WKU, tying for 47th in the Boilermaker Classic.
- Julia Zigrossi rejoins the lineup for the Lady Tops. Zigrossi tied her collegiate career-best round in the Boilermaker Classic after shooting a 1-under 71 in the second round.
- Kaylee Dwyer will also be competing at the tourney. The freshman will be competing as an individual. Dwyer goes into the Cardinal Cup coming off of a 76th place finish in the Boilermaker Classic.
- Freshman Reagan Folk is getting her first look at tournament action for WKU. Competing as an individual for this tournament, the Georgia native is a two-time All-State member and finished as runner-up in the GHSA AAA State Championship.
QUOTABLE
- Head Coach Adam Gary spoke on the upcoming tournament, "We are really looking forward to the tournament this week. The team played well in qualifying and I know the course will be in good shape. Purdue gave us some good momentum and we are excited to keep it going."
- This will be WKU's first time competing in the Cardinal Cup since the 2019-2020 season. The Lady Tops finished 10th in the tournament their last time out.
- The hosting Louisville Cardinals will have senior Carmen Griffiths in the field. Griffiths competed in the NCAA East Lansing Regional last season alongside Lady Topper Catie Craig.
- The field will feature Cincinnati, Mercer, Eastern Kentucky, and CUSA member Middle Tennessee.
