The Crofford sisters grew up in Franklin, Tenn., before coming to school on The Hill. Alex and Gabby are different ages and have different majors, but they do share something in common besides parents; a love for tennis.
Tennis runs in the Crofford family's blood. Alex and Gabby's father played for Tennessee in college and their older brother played at UT-Chattanooga. It was no surprise when both sisters followed in the family footsteps.
With senior day just a few matches away, Alex, a senior studying Biology with a minor in Chemistry, reflected on her time with WKU's tennis team.
"I'm just going to hate not seeing them every day," said Alex. "We've grown really close over the last four years."
Gabby, a sophomore, still has two more years as a Lady Topper, but she is definitely going to miss playing with her sister.
"We've laughed harder and argued more than I think we ever will again, but I wouldn't trade these past two years for anything," said Gabby.
Senior day is Sunday, April 13 at Bowling Green High School when the WKU tennis squads face off with North Alabama. Alex will be recognized along with three other members of the Lady Toppers and one Hilltopper.
