Bowling Green, Ky. — The Western Kentucky University men's tennis team was defeated by Eastern Kentucky 4-3 at Total Fitness Connection on Friday.
The Hilltoppers record fell to 3-5 on the year.
WKU started off the match with a victory by No. 1 singles Chad True. True beat Lars Gratzki in three sets 7-5, 4-6, 6-0. Thomas Krug also added a win in singles for WKU defeating Mel Segota 6-1, 7-5, at No.3 singles.
The Hilltoppers collected the doubles point with two victories. The No. 1 team of C. True and Andy True defeated Florian Kiefer and Mario Simic 9-8. David Bowman and Quinn Saine beat Johannes John and Max Schindler 8-4 at No.3 doubles.
WKU will have a week off and return to the courts on March 10 (Saturday) at home against Union College. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. (CST).
