BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU tennis is headed to New Orleans this week as the Big Easy plays host to the Sun Belt Conference Championship. The tournament begins Thursday at 10 a.m. at the City Park Tennis Center when the ninth-seeded Lady Toppers (7-7) face No. eight UL Lafayette.
The sixth-seeded Hilltoppers' first match is Friday afternoon at 3 versus the third-seeded Georgia State Panthers. The Hilltoppers (6-7) are currently riding a three-match win streak after defeating North Alabama last Sunday at Bowling Green High School. With a win on Friday, the Hilltoppers would advance to face second-seeded South Alabama on Saturday in the semifinals.
The Lady Toppers wrapped up the regular season with a convincing 6-1 victory against North Alabama last Sunday. With a win on Thursday, Coach Jeff True would lead his squad to a meeting with top-seeded Georgia State on Friday morning.
