May 23rd marks 100 days until the 2018 season kickoff for the 100th season of WKU Football, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics will treat fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between, all leading up to an August 31 season kick off.
| DAY 90 (June 2) |
| Play continued at Western Stadium under Terry until 1941 when Arnold Winkenhofer took over to lead Western's squad. Change was coming to The Hill due to World War II, and Winkenhof would only coach the squad for one season. |

| DAY 89 (June 3) |
| The year was 1942. The world was already engaged in the second World War, but Western's football program continued on for another season. It would be the program's last before taking a brief hiatus from 1943-45. This photo was taken from a game program during that 1942 season when Marshall came to Bowling Green in a 19-13 victory. |

| DAY 88 (June 4) |
| Following a three-year hiatus, Western's football program returned with a small squad for the 1946 season, pictured here. Slightly undermanned for the time, the team won just two games as they returned to form under coach Jesse Thomas including a 20-19 victory over Louisville. |

| DAY 87 (June 5) |
| By 1947, Western's football program had begun to return to form as evidenced by the large showing of the team above. Led by captain Jimmy Haynes, the team went 3-4-2. |

| DAY 86 (June 6) |
| Due to the speed of cameras readily available in the era, many of the days stars took posed photos in order to be captured with clarity. Seen here, letterman John Rudovich and two unidentified former players pose in position. |

| DAY 85 (June 7) |
| This photo, taken during a practice for the 1947 team, shows the rigors and turmoil of the earlier days on the gridiron. |
| DAY 84 (June 8) |
| In 1949, a young quarterback from Henderson, Ky., came to the Western Kentucky campus by the name of Jimmy Feix. While preceded by a great many other stars, Feix would go on to give Western Kentucky it's first-ever All-American award in 1952. |

| DAY 83 (June 9) |
| We take a brief pause in our normal countdown content on June 9 to honor our friend - and probably yours - local physical therapist and photographer Paul Gray who captured some of the best images of WKU and WKU's cheer teams. He will be missed greatly. |
| DAY 82 (June 10) |
| Long before he became WKU's all-time winningest head coach and the No. 66 was retired, quarterback Jimmy Feix led the Hilltoppers in 1951 and 1952, earning All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in both seasons while becoming WKU's first-ever All American in football in 1952. As a senior in 1952, Feix guided the Toppers to the school's first OVC football championship with a 9-1 record and the school's first bowl game appearance. Western defeated Arkansas State 34-19 to win the Refrigerator Bowl in Evansville, Ind. That season Feix led the nation's college quarterbacks with a 63.1 percent completion percentage, making good on 111 of 176 passes for 1,581 yards and 15 touchdowns. |

| DAY 82 (June 10) |
| Long before social media and websites provided roster updates, the roster card provided at games was the best way for fans to know the teams on the field. Here we see the game program from a 1932 match-up between the University of Louisville and "Western". |
