In this page from the 1970 game program for WKU vs. Eastern Kentucky, we look back at the past with some all-time great Hilltoppers including Clarence Jackson, John Embree, Jay Davis, David Nollner, among others. The 1970 team is one of WKU's 12 conference championship squads. |

DAY 17 (August 14) |
Quarterback Johnny Vance is seen here in an action pose for the media photos during his run as WKU's quarterback. A four-year letterman from Glasgow, Ky., Vance led the Hilltoppers in total offense and passing in three of his four years on The Hill. His 412 total plays during the 1969 season set a school record at the time and his 4,782 yards of total offense for his career were also a school record at the conclusion of his playing career. |

As we enter the final 12 days of the countdown, we will countdown with each of WKU's 12 conference championship team pictures, beginning with the most recent in 2016. The 2016 Hilltoppers went 11-3 and 7-1 in Conference USA before defeating Louisiana Tech for the league title. The team went on to win the 2016 Boca Raton Bowl. Running back Anthony Wales was named the championship and bowl game MVP. |

DAY 11 (August 20) |
As we enter the final 12 days of the countdown, we will countdown with each of WKU's 12 conference championship team pictures, which continues with the 2015 Conference USA Championship squad. The 2015 will be argued among Hilltopper fans for generations as one of the most talented in program history. They became the first team in C-USA history to go undefeated in conference play and win the C-USA Championship Game and the first in WKU's history to finish ranked in the Associated Press FBS Top 25 poll, coming in at No. 24 to end the season. That year, WKU defeated C-USA opponents by an average margin of more than 25 points per game which was, at the time, the second-largest margin of victory over C-USA opponents in league history. A whopping 20 players from the roster - which includes a handful of players still on the 2018 team - earned NFL opportunities. |
