May 23rd marks 100 days until the 2018 season kickoff for the 100th season of WKU Football, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics will treat fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between, all leading up to an August 31 season kick off.

A fan favorite, here is another look at the winged W helmets, this time from a game in 1964 against Eastern Kentucky. |

DAY 67Â (June 25) |
An iconic photo in the WKU archives, this one from 1966 features a then-freshman Romeo Crennel (76) rushing the Middle Tennessee quarterback in Western Stadium alongside captain on the 1967 team, Wes Simpson (88). |
|
DAY 66Â (June 26) |
It's only fitting that on Day 66 of the countdown, we begin the Jimmy Feix era. Feix, then an assistant coach from 1957-67, took over the program from Nick Denes after an 11-year run in 1968. Feix's first game as head coach was also the first game in the brand new L.T. Smith Stadium and was a 35-0 win over Butler. Feix's team didn't allow a single point to be scored in the first five games of the 1968 season and included stars such as Walt Heath, Dickie Moore, and Romeo Crennel. |
