As a Junior (2012-13): Marx completed her junior season with seven top-10 finishes, including five in the top five. She scored in three events at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, as WKU earned its ninth title in program history. Marx[apos]s best finish came in the 100 fly with a time of 55.43. She also placed seventh in the 200 fly (2:02.60) and 11th in the 200 IM (2:06.48). During the regular season, Marx had four top-five finishes. Her best finishes came in third, as she took the placing in the 200 fly (2:10.45) against Delta State and versus the field at the Hilltopper Invite in the 200 fly (2:06.28) as well. Marx also finished fourth in the 200 free (1:59.30) in season closer against Evansville and fifth in the 200 fly (2:09.49) against Vanderbilt/Tulane.
As a Sophomore (2011-12): In her second season at WKU, Courtney Marx posted 14 top-8 finishes in four different events, including the 100- and 200-butterfly. Her best finish of the season came in the 100 fly against the University of the Cumberlands. Marks placed second with a time of 1:00.57. She also finished third in the 200 fly at the same meet. Marks added a third-place finish in the 200 fly (2:09.46) against Marshall and Fairmont State. She competed in one event at the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, swimming in the preliminaries of the 200 butterfly. She touched in with a season-best time of 2:06.86.
As a Freshman (2010-11): In her debut season with the Lady Toppers, Marx turned in 10 top-five finishes while competing in seven different events. Marx scored in two events at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, placing eighth in the 200 butterfly and 12th in the 200 IM. She had a pair of runner-up finishes on the season, in the 200 free (1:57.88) vs. Evansville and in the 100 butterfly (58.28) against Vanderbilt and South Carolina. That meet was strong for Marx as she also placed 3rd in the 200 butterfly.
High School: Four-year starter at Pembroke Pines Charter High School in Cooper City, Fla...Advanced to the Florida High School Athletic Association state finals each year...As a senior, Marx finished third in the 100 fly and was a member of the 400 freestyle relay which placed second...Earned All-American consideration in the 100 fly.
