As a Junior (2013-14): Finished the season with eight individual top-10 finishes, including seven in the top five... Placed 13th in the 100 and 200 breast at the Conference USA Championships with times of 1:03.82 and 2:19.60, respectively, as both were season-best times...Finished second in the 200 breast at the Hilltopper Open with a time of 2:22.11 while third in the 100 breast after stopping the clock in 1:06.44...Placed third in the 200 breast in win at Cincinnati (2:26.53)...Also competed in multiple medley and free relays, including the 200 free relay that placed second in the Hilltopper Open and 200 medley relay that placed second against Florida Atlantic.
As a Sophomore (2012-13): Counter concluded the season with eight top-five finishes, including four in the top three. Those four finishes came in the form of third-place times in the 200 breast vs. Delta State (2:26.80), 200 breast vs. Vanderbilt/Tulane (2:23.92), a season-best time of 1:04.61 in the 100 breast at the Hilltopper Invite as well as the 200 breast (2:21.47) at the home event. Counter had her best time of the season in the 200 breast at the Miami (Ohio) Invite after stopping the clock at 2:20.59 for eighth place out of a field of at least 16 swimmers. Counter contributed to WKU[apos]s ninth Sun Belt Conference Championship after scoring in the 100 breast (1:06.54) and 200 breast (2:23.81) at the event.
As a Freshman (2011-12): In her first season at WKU, Taylor Counter posted seven top-10 finishes between the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Her best finish of the season came in the 200 breaststroke against Marshall. Counter stopped the clock in 2:28.11 to place third in the road meet. She had a strong meet against Southern Illinois, placing fifth in the 100 breast (1:08.57) and fourth in the 200 breast (2:26.60). Counter competed in three events at the Bulldog Invitational, an NCAA Last Chance event.
High School: Lettered four years at Scottsbluff High School in Scottsbluff, Nebraska...Placed fourth in the 100 breast at the State Championships as a junior...Was state champion in the 100 breast as a senior.
