NEWARK, Del. -- WKU Softball's season came to a close on Friday after splitting the day with a 5-2 win over LA Tech and a 2-5 loss to Jacksonville State.
The Hilltoppers finish the 2026 season with a 39-14 overall record and a 19-8 record in Conference USA.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bulldogs (31-25 overall) got off to an early start, scoring the first run of the day in the top of the first with an RBI single.
WKU answered in the home half of the inning as Annie White doubled to left field for her first RBI.
Both sides were held scoreless until LA Tech scored their second and final run of the game in the top of the second.
The Hilltoppers answered in the bottom of the fourth as Katie Murphy executed a bunt single to score Kendle White, who reached on a walk.
With the score tied 2-2, Jenna Blanton doubled to center field to score another two runs and push WKU's lead to 4-2.
The Hilltoppers' last run of the game came in the bottom of the fifth as Anna Mauck doubled to left center to score Macy Gregor , who was pinch running for Maci Masters.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hilltoppers' first run of the game was scored in the top of the first thanks to a sacrifice fly from Annie White. White brought in Jenna Blanton, who reached earlier with a double to center field.
The Gamecocks (44-14 overall) scored four runs in the bottom of the second with a three-run home run and an RBI single. Jax State also added another run in the home half of the sixth.
Kenney Stinson hit her 10th home run of the season in the top of the seventh, but that would be the only offensive production of that inning.
NOTABLES
- The Hilltoppers finish the season with the second-most wins in program history at 39. The 2026 team also finishes with the third-best winning percentage in program history at .736.
- Anna Mauck led the offense with a .600 batting average across both games. Mauck went 3-for-5 at the plate with a single, two doubles, and one RBI.
- Erica Houge posted a 1.00 ERA on the day and earned the win against Louisiana Tech. Houge finishes the season ranked fourth all-time in single-season wins with 23.
- Kennedy Stinson became the fourth batter with 10 or more home runs this season, joining Maci Masters, Annie White, and Kendle White. No WKU team has had more than two double-digit home run hitters in a single season.
- The Hilltoppers finish the 2026 season, setting seven total single-season records: Best start (18-3), longest win streak (14 games), highest slugging percentage (.528), most runs scored (312), most home runs (59), most RBI (276), most total bases (725).
- On the individual side, Annie White set a new program record in on-base percentage (.510) and most sacrifice flies (8).
