HOW IT HAPPENED
- Austin Haller led off the game with a walk, and a fielder's choice error allowed Haller to reach second safely and Reid Howard to get aboard.
- Lane Arroyos stepped in and on a 1-1 count, laced a double into right center field to plate Haller and Howard and give WKU a 2-0 advantage.
- With that double, Arroyos has tied the WKU single season record in doubles with 24.
- In the Hilltopper third, Howard logged an infield single and stole second. Arroyos recorded his second hit of the game with a single through the left side to move Howard over to third.
- A ground ball double play allowed Howard to come home and extend the Hilltopper lead to three runs.
- The WKU pitching staff would blank the Blue Hens in the final six frames en route to their second shutout win in league play.

- WKU improves to 29-25 on the year and 14-15 in league play.
- Gavin Perry started on the mound for the Hilltoppers Friday.
- The native of Oceanside, Calif. tossed four strikeouts, allowing no runs, no walks, and just three hits in 6.0 innings of work en route to his seventh win.
- Friday marked Perry's sixth start in league play in which he has gone six or more innings.
- Out of the bullpen Dawson Hall and Mick Uebelhor both saw action.
- Mick Uebelhor logged his fourth save of the season, allowing just one hit and no walks along with a pair of strikeouts in 1.1 innings of work.
- Dawson Hall also logged four strikeouts on Friday. He allowed two hits and a walk in 1.2 innings of action.
- Lane Arroyos paced the WKU offense on Friday with a 2-for-3 game. He added two RBIs, a double, and a walk in the effort.
- With his double Friday, Arroyos now has 24 on the year. That ties the WKU program record for doubles in a season, matching Chris Turner (1991) and Wade Gaynor (2008).
- Austin Haller also logged two hits. He finished 2-for-4 with a double, a run, and a walk.
- Reid Howard charted two runs on Friday and finished with one hit and a walk in four plate appearances.
- Cael Frost was the third Hilltopper to manage a double in the game. He finished up 1-for-3.
- Friday's game was the fourth shutout win for WKU in 2026 and their second in CUSA play. Both shutouts in league play were with Perry as the starting pitcher.
- Friday marked the 21st game in 2026 that the Hilltopper pitching staff has recorded 10 or more strikeouts.
- WKU now has 144 wins in the Marc Rardin era, which is the second most in a four-year period in WKU Baseball history.
