HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Kendle White started the game in dramatic fashion with a leadoff home run to quickly put WKU up 1-0 over SHSU.Â
The Hilltoppers added to their lead in the home half of the second after an error by the Bearkats shortstop allowed Sharpe to score from second.Â
Houge, who earned her 17th start Friday night, sat the Bearkats down in order in the top of the first and second innings and only gave up a single in the third.Â
Up 2-0 going into the fourth, SHSU hit a solo home run to cut WKU's lead in half.Â
Satterly answered right back in the bottom half of the frame with her first collegiate home run to put the Hilltoppers back up by two, 3-1.Â
The Bearkats picked up another run in the top of the fifth with an RBI single.Â
Sam Houston grabbed the lead in the top of the sixth with a two-run shot to center field to push the score to 4-3.Â
The opponent's lead did not last long, however, as Sharpe roped an RBI double to left center to even the score, 4-4.Â
Two batters later, Kennedy Stinson picked up a two-RBI double to left center to score both Sharpe and Macy Gregor who pinch ran for Annie White. Â
With WKU's lead expanded to 6-4, Kendle White added one more run for the Hilltoppers with an RBI single down the left field line.Â
Despite loading the bases, SHSU was unable to score and the Hilltoppers earned the series sweep.Â
