JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- WKU Softball lost to Jax State on Saturday 5-0 at Jana McGinnis Field in Jacksonville, Alabama.

The Hilltoppers (19-5 overall, 3-2 CUSA) left a total of four on base and had runners in scoring position three different times but were unable to capitalize against the Gamecocks (19-8 overall, 4-1 CUSA).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Kendle White opened the game with a leadoff single up the middle followed by a sacrifice bunt from Jenna Blanton to move White to second.

A walk from Annie White put another Hilltopper on the bases, and a groundout from Morgan Sharpe pushed both Whites to second and third, but WKU closed the first without a run.
Jax State plated its runs in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Kendle White hit a double to left field in the top of the sixth, but the Hilltoppers were unable to score.

NOTABLES

Rylan Smith recorded six strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work.
Kendle White led in hits with two.
