Sam Crenshaw was one of six Hilltoppers to set a new personal best on Friday. His mark of 5.17 in the men's pole vault breaks his previous program record of 5.15 meters set back on Jan. 10.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
The two-day meet kicked off Friday morning with the women's weight throw where Jayla Gilbert and Kennedy Coradini competed. Gilbert took 16th while Coradini claimed 21st.
In the women's weight throw invitational Ajla Basic set a new personal best with a toss of 19.40 meters, good for sixth place in the event. Basic's mark stands at No. 5 in WKU Indoor Track and Field history.
The men's weight throw saw a pair of personal best finishes for both LeAndre Bolen and Luke McQueen. Bolen managed a throw of 15.22 meters while McQueen's throw was marked at 14.44 meters.Â
In the men's pole vault open, Jackson Gray finished with a mark of 4.63 meters to claim a top five finish. Jackson Tweed and Caleb Joyce finished up in seventh and 10th respectively.
In the men's pole vault invitational Crenshaw again set a new program record with a vault of 5.17 meters, good for second place. The occasion marks the third time the sophomore has broken his own indoor record this season.
On the track in the men's 60-meter dash Kameron Horton managed to qualify for Saturday's finals with a time of 6.86, good for eighth place.Â
In the 60 meter hurdles both Gianna Huerta and Ricardo Smith set a personal best mark. In the women's event, Huerta finished up in 9.12. In the men's event Smith clocked in at 8.44.Â
The final event of the night was the men's distance medley relay. The group of Parker Smith, Ben Dunkle, Wade Balcom, and Trevor Hudnall managed to win the event with a time of 10:07.18. That time stands as the fourth best in the history of WKU Indoor Track and Field.

- Sam Crenshaw again broke his own program record in the men's pole vault with a vault of 5.17 meters, marking the third time the sophomore from Bangor, Wi. has done so this season.
