ABOUT THE TOPSÂ
- Last time out WKU competed in the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational Friday and Saturday, Jan. 9-10.
- In total, eight Hilltoppers set a personal best throughout the two-day meet.
- Van Thrasher headlined action for WKU on Friday with a sixth place mark in the 60-meter hurdles semifinal round. His time of 8.10 stands at No. 62 in all of NCAA DI.
- Saturday, Sam Crenshaw set a new program record, breaking his previous record set at the Winter Commodore Challenge with a mark of 5.15 meters.
- The mark is also a personal best for the sophomore from Bangor, Wisconsin.
- Zachariah Taylor set a PR in the 60-meter semifinals with a time of 6.88.
- Ella Cleveland set a new personal best in the pole vault with a mark of 3.60 meters, finishing in 19th place.
- Luke McQueen set a PR in the men's weight throw with a toss of 14.16 meters.
- Trevor Hudnall set a PR in the mile with a time of 4:12, good for fifth place. His mark stands at No. 76 in NCAA DI.
- Parker Smith set a new personal best in the mile Saturday with a time of 4:17, finishing up in 10th place.
- Gianna Huerta set a new personal best mark in the 300, checking in at 41.65.
MEET HISTORY
- The weekend's two day meet marks the second time this season that the Hilltoppers will compete at Vanderbilt, previously competing at the Winter Commodore Challenge back on December 6, 2025.
- The last time WKU competed in the Vanderbilt Invitational was the 2021-22 season.Â
- The best finish for the Tops in that meet was Savannah Heckman's victory in the women's 5000-meter race.
- At that meet the men claimed a fifth place finish in both the 4x400 meter relay and the DMR.
EVENT BREAKDOWN
- Friday, the pentathlon and heptathlon kick off action at 9 a.m. and run until 1:45 p.m.
- Field events get underway on day one at 11 a.m. with the pole vault open followed by the high jump open.
- The final field event of Friday is the long jump set for 6:30 p.m.
- Track events Friday start at 4:30 p.m. with the 1000-meter race and wrap up at 8:25 p.m. with the DMR.
- Saturday starts with the last few legs of the heptathlon at 8:30 a.m.
- That is followed up by the high jump open set for 9:00 a.m. Saturday's field events conclude with the shot put open at 4:30 p.m.
- Track action gets underway Saturday at 11:45 a.m. with the 60-hurdles prelims and concludes with the 4x400 at 6:15 p.m. (All times listed are Central Standard)
