NASHVILLE, Tenn. āĀ WKU Track and Field wrapped up day one of competition Friday at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENEDĀ
The first event of Friday for the Hilltoppers was the men's weight throw. LeAndre Bolen finished up in 16th with a mark of 13.76 meters. Ella Daniels competed in her first meet for WKU in the high jump and finished up in ninth place.
In the men's pole vault Sam Crenshaw led the way with a fourth place finish. Jackson Gray finished up in seventh with a PR mark of 4.85. Jackson Tweed finished up in 11th.
In the men's 1000, Joey Raybourne set a new personal best mark, checking in at 2:41.17, good for 27th place. Rowen Wilkinson followed in 28th.
In the women's weight throw Ajla Basic finished up in second place with a mark of 18.72 meters.
In the men's 200, Brunel Desinor managed a top-10 finish, claiming eighth in the event. Zachariah Taylor followed suit in ninth.
In the final event of the night for WKU, the men's long jump invite, Sterling Weldon managed a top-three finish, taking third place.
NOTABLESĀ
- In total, two Hilltoppers set a personal best on Friday.
- Jackson Gray finished with a PR in the men's pole vault with a mark of 4.85 meters.
- Joey Raybourne set a new PR in the 1000, clocking in at 2:41.17.
