ABOUT THE TOPSÂ
- WKU will compete under the direction of interim head coach Lee Wood following the tragic loss of beloved Director of Track and Cross Country Brent Chumbley on January 30.
- At their last meet, the Bellarmine Classic on Jan. 24, 14 Hilltoppers finished with a new personal best after all the events of the day were tallied.
- Sophia Roskoski had a banner day in the women's pole vault where she cleared 3.97 meters to win the event and set a new personal best. This stood at 80th in NCAA DI. Sam Crenshaw won the pole vault for a second consecutive meet. He was followed by Caleb Joyce who set a PR in the event with a mark of 4.55 meters.
- Roskoski's performance in the pole vault earned her CUSA Field Athlete of the Week honors on Jan. 28. Her mark stands as the third best in program history.
- On the track, two more Hilltoppers set PR's in the women's mile. Kalina Urbaniak finished in 4:56 and Nayla Martin finished in 4:57. In the women's 800, Tatum Maschhoff and Rachel Payne both set new personal bests both finishing in the top-15.
- Sterling Weldon claimed third setting a PR in the 60-meter dash and Zachariah Taylor became the third Hilltopper in that race alone to set a PR also notching a top-five finish.Â
EVENT BREAKDOWN
- Action Saturday will get underway at 9:30 a.m. with the women's and men's 60-meter preliminary rounds. (All times CST)
- For field events, action will get underway at 9 a.m. with the women's shot put followed by the men's event.
- The women's high jump will mark the final field event of the day, slated to get underway at 3 p.m.
- The final event of the single day meet, the 4x400 relays, will commence at 5:30 with the women's race followed by the men.

MEET HISTORY
- WKU is no stranger to the Birmingham Crossplex. Prior to 2024 the CUSA Indoor Championships were held at the venue.
- The last time the Hilltoppers competed in a regular season indoor meet in the state of Alabama was the Samford Bulldog Invite back in 2022. WKU will compete in the same meet this season Feb. 14-15.
- Saturday's meet will mark the third that the Blazers have hosted at the Crossplex this season.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
- The meet will feature several other familiar opponents for the Hilltoppers including Evansville, Southern Miss, and host UAB.
- Some other teams from Alabama that will compete in the event include Alabama A&M, Alabama State, and Troy.
- Some other DI opponents include Arkansas Pine Bluff, Georgia State, Jackson State, Memphis, and ULM.
