ABOUT THE TOPSÂ
- WKU is coming off their first weekend of competition at the Rod McCravy Invitational, a two day meet in Louisville last weekend.
- Wade Balcom highlighted the first day for the Tops as he managed a third place finish in the 600 meter run, setting a PR (1:20).
- Mary Dye set a PR in the 3000 meter race, finishing up in 10:39 good for 14th place.
- Kameron Horton set a PR both days. Friday, Horton managed a time of 6.93 in the 60-meter dash. His finish qualified him for the semifinals on Saturday. On Saturday, Horton beat his previous best in the 60 finishing in 6.85, a new career best.
- In total, 26 Hilltoppers finished within the top-20 in their respective events in the first meet of the season.
- There were a total of five new personal bests over the course of the weekend.
MEET HISTORY
- This season's open meet will mark the third consecutive year that WKU has competed in the meet hosted by the Knights dating back to 2023.
- Last season the Hilltoppers were led by Kameron Horton who managed a first place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. He also took fourth in the 200-meter dash.Â
- Wade Balcom claimed sixth place in the men's 800 meter run. Addie Frisch took 10th in the women's race.
EVENT BREAKDOWN
- Action Friday will get underway at 9 a.m. with the men's and women's 60-meter hurdle prelims. (All times CST)
- For field events, action will get underway at 9 a.m. as well with the women's weight throw.Â
- The men's shot put will round out the field events slated to get underway at 3 p.m.
- The final event of the single day meet, the 4x400 relays, will commence at 3:45 with the men's relay followed by the women's race slated for 4:05 p.m.

SCOUTING THE FIELD
- The meet will feature several teams from the commonwealth including multiple other DI programs.
- Host Bellarmine will be joined by crosstown school Louisville as well as EKU, and Northern Kentucky.
- Southern Indiana is the lone DI school outside of Kentucky that will compete in the single day meet.
