Associate Head Coach Anthony Acklin commented on WKU's performance throughout the Invitational. "Had a decent meet over all with the high light being Katie Isenbarger winning the HJ with a jump of 1.85m. Kameron Horton had a breakthrough in the hurdles running 14.28 moving him up to 4th on the conference list." Acklin continued, "Also making notable improvements on their lifetime best was Trevor Hudnall 1:53.41 and Wade Balcom 1:53.81. those marks move them up to 5th and 7th on the conference list. We have one meet left next week at Vanderbilt to fine tune something's before C-USA championship."
Graduate-student Nick Fornoff got the day started for the Red and White on the field. The Illinois native took home fourth in the high jump after clearing 2.00 meters.
The Tops had four athletes competing in the discus throw. Two of them places within the top-20 in the 45-person field. Luke Stegman finished 12th after clearing for 49.26 meters and freshman Connor Owens finished 19th after clearing 46.91 meters.
Luke Stegman took home a top-20 finish as well in the shot put. Stegman would clear 15.24 meters and would finish 19th.
On the track for the men, freshman Kameron Horton would take home the best finish of the day in the 110 meter hurdles. Horton would qualify for the final after turning in a 14.28 time, but would not finish in the final.
The women had an extremely successful day for WKU as they had four top-10 finishers.
The highlight of the day came during the high jump. Graduate-student Katie Isenbarger claimed first place in the event after clearing 1.85 meters. Isenbarger was just shy of her 1.86-meter record that she set at the Joe Walker Invitational.
Emilia Lesniak would also claim a top-10 finish, finishing seventh after clearing 1.65 meters.
On the track side, Kinley Kunkel took home the best finish for WKU. The freshman would finish seventh in the 5000 meter and turned in a 17:40.28 time. Kynzlei Bassett finished 11th in the event after posting a 18:22.22 time.
Lady Topper Netanya Linares would take home a top-10 finish in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in a 14.26 to finish 10th. Rachel Payne and Gianna Huerta would finish 20th and 21st respectively.

WKU Track and Field will compete in their last tournament before the CUSA Outdoor Championships next weekend. The Red and White will travel to Nashville to compete in the Music City Challenge, hosted by Vanderbilt. Events and start times are yet to be announced.
