BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Track and Field is set to host the annual Hilltopper Relays Friday March 29 and Saturday March 30 at the Charles M. Ruter Track and Field Complex.
The team will also be celebrating Senior Day and honoring nine seniors Saturday afternoon. Ilana Anderson, Rachel Flinchum, Netanya Linares, Zackery Martinez, Devon Montgomery, Rory O'Connor, Lucy Rutherford, Tayelor Thrasher-Walker, and Grace Turner will all be recognized for their dedication to the program.

Last time out, WKU competed in the Yellow Jacket Invitational at Georgia Tech. 12 Hilltoppers set new personal records at the single day event. On the track, Wade Balcom led WKU in the mid-distance ranks, claiming 11th out of 32 competitors in the 800. His time of 1:54 is a PR for the Sophomore. Trevor Hudnall also set a new PR in the race.
In the field, Netanya Linares threw a personal best in the javelin, going for 35.27 meters.
The Hilltoppers will be competing against Ferris State and Brescia among others this weekend.
Friday, the meet will kick off at 11 a.m. in the field with the hammer throw. The day will commence with the 5000 meter race slated for 5:30 p.m.Â
Day two gets underway at 9 a.m. in the field with the women's discus and triple jump. The men's discus will follow. Veteran Luke Stegman headlines the list for the men, coming off of a personal best throw at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
Three Hilltoppers will be competing in the women's pole vault led by Senior Grace Turner along with Sophia Roskoski and Natalie Papes. On the track, the 4x100 race will run at noon.Â
In the afternoon, the women's 800 meter race is scheduled for 2:10 with the men following. After, the hurdles will be brought onto the track for the men's 110 and the women's 100. The final event of the meet will be the 4x400 relays which will get underway at 5:10.
