BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Women's Tennis will face Dayton at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday at the South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg, Ohio.
It is the first road match in nearly a month for the Lady Toppers, who won all five matches of their recent five-match homestand to improve to 7-1 at home and 8-5 overall.
WKU has been led in singles play this season by Sofia Blanco. The junior from Caracas, Venezuela, has an 11-1 record and was named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Rachel Hermanova, winner of back-to-back matches, is one win from tying the program's career record for singles victories, and Samantha Martinez – the program's leader in career doubles victories – is one doubles win away from reaching 50 in her career.
Dayton enters Saturday's match with a 6-6 overall record after back-to-back losses to Cincinnati and Butler. Prior to that, the Flyers had won six straight matches.
WKU is 4-0 all-time against Dayton, with all four matches coming since 2019. The Lady Toppers claimed 4-0 and 4-2 victories over the Flyers during a doubleheader in the 2022 season in the last meeting.
