BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Track & Field continues the 2024 Indoor campaign with the Bellarmine Open on Friday Jan. 19 in Louisville, Ky. The meet marks the first of three straight that will take place in the Derby City.

On the upcoming meet, Head Coach Brent Chumbley said "This meet will give us a better idea of where we are right now. We should be able to clean up some technical events and make the transition to a banked track."
WKU is fresh off its season-opening meet at the 2024 Commodore Challenge where the Hilltoppers turned in a handful of solid performances. Newcomers made quite the impression in the opening meet. Kameron Horton made his mark in the hurdles, finishing up in fourth in the 60 meter finals, going for a best 8.18 time. For the vaulters, freshmen Sophia Roskoski and Jessica Phillipp both managed top-15 finishes.
Returners also made an impact for the Red and White, notching multiple top-five finishes. Julian Klenner took home third place in the 300 meter dash. On the distance side, Kynzlei Bassett finished up in third in the 5000 meter race. Rachel Payne managed a pair of top-15 finishes including a PR in the 600 (1:43).
The single day meet kicks off with the shot put at 9 a.m. On the track the distance medleys are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The day's events will commence with the 4x400 meter relays which are slated for a 4:15 p.m. start time.
