SAN ANTONIO, Texas – WKU Baseball continues Conference USA play this weekend in San Antonio, Texas with a three-game series against (RV) UTSA beginning at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, March 31 at Roadrunner Field.

THE SCHEDULE
• The Hilltoppers will open their series on Friday, March 31 with a 6 p.m. CT matchup against (RV) UTSA at Roadrunner Field.
• WKU will then play the Roadrunners at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 1.
• The Hilltoppers will close out their series against (RV) UTSA on Sunday, April 2 at 12:30 p.m. CT.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Hilltoppers fell to No. 12 Kentucky in a midweek game, 10-8, last Tuesday at Nick Denes Field.
• Despite the loss, INF Tristin Garcia posted a 3-for-5 outing while the Hilltoppers launched two pinch-hit homers from OF Brett Blomquist and INF Ty Batusich in a comeback attempt that fell just short.

DOUBLE TIME
• Through 26 games the Hilltopper offense is top six in the nation and leads all of C-USA in doubles (63), while being at the top of the league in doubles per game (2.4).
• The top three spots of the C-USA doubles leaders belong to Hilltoppers in INF Drew Reckart (12), OF Ty Crittenberger (9), and INF Tristin Garcia (9).

TOP OF THE CHARTS
• Only 12 C-USA players are hitting .355 or better through the first six weeks of the season and WKU carries three of them in Drew Reckart (.379), INF Tristin Garcia (.359), and OF Ty Crittenberger (.355) who rank 5th, 9th, and 11th in the league thus far.
• As a team, the Hilltoppers rank 2nd C-USA in batting average (.312), while ranking in the top 40 in the nation.

MOUND MARVELS
• WKU leads the league in saves (8) while ranking 3rd in the conference in opponent batting average (.248) and the staff has only surrendered 20 home runs through 26 games, ranking 4th in C-USA.
• LHP Devyn Terbrak ranks 3rd in C-USA with a 1.95 ERA while owning the 8th-most strikeouts in the league (35).

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
• WKU's offense currently leads all of Conference USA in sacrifice bunts (26), almost doubling the next best team, UAB (15), while ranking as one of the top five teams in the nation.
• The top three C-USA leaders in sacrifice bunts are all Hilltoppers in AJ Fiechter (6), Aidan Gilroy (4), and Kirk Liebert (4).

SERIES HISTORY
• WKU and UTSA have met 17 times in program history, with the Hilltoppers owning a 10-7 all-time series edge.
• The last two meetings between the sides have been in the C-USA Tournament with WKU owning the most recent victory, winning 10-9 in 2021.Â

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
• WKU is 16-10 on the season after dropping a midweek contest to No. 12 Kentucky last Tuesday.
• Offensively, nine Hilltoppers are hitting .300 or better with Drew Reckart (.379), INF Tristin Garcia (.359) and OF Ty Crittenberger (.365) leading the charge.
• On the mound, WKU has compiled a 4.82 team ERA while striking out 227 batters in 226.0 innings of action.

• (RV) UTSA is 20-6 on the year after falling to Texas A&M-CC on Tuesday night, 8-2.
• At the plate, the Roadrunners have one player hitting .400 or better – Antonio Valdez – who currently owns a .412 batting average.
• The UTSA pitching staff pitching staff has produced a 3.43 team ERA while recording 225 strikeouts in 228.0 frames.
