BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Baseball and Head Coach Marc Rardin have announced that they will play four exhibition games in October during its fall season.
The Hilltoppers open the month at Nick Denes Field with a matchup against Indiana State on Oct. 3. WKU played the Sycamores in a three-game series during the 2026 season and took 2-of-3.
One week later, the Hilltoppers will host Tennessee Tech on Oct. 10 in their final home exhibition of the month. The Tops played host to the Golden Eagles in a midweek on March 31, and etched a seven-inning combined no-hitter, marking the first combined no-hitter for WKU since the 2009 season.
WKU will then travel to Jackson, Tenn. for a matchup with 2021 NCAA National Champion and SEC power Mississippi State on Oct.18. This will mark the second time in the last three fall seasons that WKU has faced an SEC opponent. In 2024, the Hilltoppers played then defending national champion Tennessee in Nashville. The game, presented by Yukon Outfitters, will be hosted by the Jackson Rockabillys at the Ballpark in Jackson. Ticket sales will open to the public on Thursday, September 3rd. The Oct. slate of exhibition matchups concludes with a trip to Evansville on Oct. 24. WKU's last matchup with the Purple Aces was during the historic 2025 campaign that saw a Conference USA Championship and a berth in the NCAA Oxford Regional.
