STATESBORO, Ga. – WKU Women's Golf wrapped up rounds one and two of The Southern tournament. The Lady Tops are currently eyeing their fourth straight top three tournament finish of the Fall season as they are currently in second place overall, trailing Georgia Southern by three strokes.
A familiar face is in the top three for the Lady Tops. Catie Craig is currently tied for first place going into the final round of play in the last tournament of the Fall. Craig opened her Monday morning with a 4-over 76 round one followed by a 4-under 68. This positioned her nicely at the top of the leaderboard.
Coming off of a top 10 finish in Sarasota, Sarah Arnold is in great position heading into the final round of play. The graduate student is currently tied for the seventh spot on the leaderboard. Arnold holds a score of 4-over 148 heading into tomorrow morning.
The Lady Tops have another golfer in the top 20, as Addie Westbrook is currently tied for 16th. Westbrook used a 4-over 76 second round, including three birdies, to secure herself in the top half of the leaderboard.
Tying for 28th on the day is Lady Topper Averi Cline. Cline improved on her first round, shooting an even-par 72 in the second round. Cline currently holds a 9-over 153 total score after two rounds.
Competing as an individual, Nina McMurtrey is currently tied for 38th after two rounds. McMurtrey shot an 8-over 80 in the first round.
Also landing in the top 50 is Sydney Hackett. Hackett is tied for 44th heading into tomorrow's final round. Hackett was able to improve on her first round by three strokes, turning in a 5-over 77 second round.
The Southern continues tomorrow morning with an 8:30 A.M. tee time. This will be the last round of golf the Lady Toppers play in the Fall season.
