SARASOTA, Fl. – WKU Women's Golf earned their third straight top three finish of the season as they finish as the first runner-up in the Pat Bradley Invitational.
Three Lady Tops finished in the top 10 in Sarasota. This is the second time this feat has beenaccomplished this season.
After spending the entirety of the tournament near the top of the leaderboard, Catie Craig finished fourth overall in the Invitational. Craig had an astounding showing in her final round, finishing with seven birdies. Craig ended her third round with a 4-under 68 score.
A pair of Lady Tops occupy the seven and eight spots on the leaderboard. Sarah Arnold earned her second top 10 finish of the season after finishing the tournament seventh overall. Lady Topper teammate Sydney Hackett finishes in eighth on the leaderboard. This is Hackett's first top 10 finish of the season.
Another Lady Topper in the top 15 is Addie Westbrook who tied for 13th in Florida. Westbrook showed her consistency throughout the final round, scoring even through majority of her holes. The Lady Top senior finished with a 2-over 218 score for the overall tournament.
Averi Cline had a strong showing in Sarasota as well, tying for 30th overall. Cline finished her final round with a 1-over 73 score, and an 8-over 224 total score.
Rachel Rich had a top 50 finish of her own. The South Carolina native finished with a 12-over 228 score, tying for 43rd.
The team had a stellar showing throughout the entirety of the tournament and has plenty of momentum heading into the teams's final tournament of the season. "This is great momentum going into next week. We have played the course before and are really looking forward to the event.", said Head Coach Adam Gary.
The team had a record-breaking performance in the final round. The team scored the lowest round in WKU school history, shooting a 279 and beating the previous record of 280 that was set in 2019 at the Spring Break shootout. The team also posted the lowest 54-hole tournament score in school history. The Lady Tops scored an 853 overall, breaking the previous record of 857.
The Lady Tops will look to wrap up their tremendous Fall season on October 23rd as they travel to Georgia Southern and compete in The Southern tournament.
