In both the hammer throw and high jump events, the top 12 marks will qualify for the NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship held June 8-11 in Eugene, Oregon.
Basic qualified for the regionals with a mark of 59.07 meters in the hammer throw. She threw the distance at the recent Conference USA Outdoor Championship to place second.
Safont Falomir threw 58.74 meters at the Outdoor Music City Challenge at the end of April to qualify for the prelims.
The throwing duo are the first throwers, male or female, to qualify for an NCAA East Regional since Jenessa Jackson in 2017. It's the first time WKU had multipole throwers qualify since 2016.
Isenbarger returns to the East Regionals as she also qualified in her freshman year of 2019. She qualified this season with a mark of 5' 10.75" (1.80m). Her collegiate personal best is 6-feet, a mark she cleared twice in indoor season.
