BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – WKU Track & Field's trio of performances at the NCAA East Preliminaries on Thursday and Saturday officially concluded the 2021-22 year for WKU Athletics.
On Saturday, Katie Isenbarger cleared a season-best 5' 11.25" (1.81 meters) in the high jump. It's the second-best outdoor mark program history behind 5' 11.5" that she cleared in her freshman season. She now owns the top four marks in outdoor program history, clearing three of those in 2022 season.
Isenbarger finished 14th at the Regional, just narrowly missing the 12-woman cut off to advance to nationals. She passed on the first height before clearing 5' 7.25" on her first go. She cleared 5' 9.25" on her third attempt and cleared the 5' 11.25" bar on her first run. She missed 6' 0.5" on all three attempts to finish 14th.
On Thursday, Aitana Safont Falomir threw 55.16 meters in hammer throw to finish 38th in the prelims. Her teammate Ajla Basic threw 53.80 meters and placed just behind her at 41st.
