BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Track & Field's next meet in the outdoor season will be the Green and Gold Invite hosted by UAB in Birmingham on Friday and Saturday.

WKU is recently coming off of its very own Hilltopper Relays. The group strung together five event titles and 25 top-five finishes across the two-day meet.
Pole vaulter Devon Montgomery claimed the men's title after clearing the second-best outdoor height in program history at 15-foot-7. Dedrick Troxell picked up wins in the men's 800 and 5k while Savanah Heckman won the 1500-meter race.
In throws, Ajla Basic won the women's hammer throw, leading all seven WKU women who competed in the event. Kaison Barton competed unattached from the team and won the men's shot put. Both throwers logged a PR in their respective events last Friday.
At the UAB Green and Gold Invite, WKU will begin action at 2 p.m. CT with the women's then men's hammer throw. Men's pole vault, along with men's and women's javelin and long jump will all compete in the field on Friday afternoon. On the track, the 1500 starts at 5:15 p.m. followed by the men's and women's 3,000-meter steeplechase starting at 6:15.
On Saturday, discus will kick off the day at 9 a.m. beginning with women and following with men. Triple jump, high jump, shot put and women's pole vault are all slated to go throughout the day. Running events will also start at 9 a.m. with the women's then men's 5k. The track is scheduled to run through events consecutively from noon through the 4x400-meter relay at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday evening.
