BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Women's Golf is set to travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for the UNF Collegiate this upcoming week. The event is being hosted by North Florida at the par-72, 5926-yard Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
On Monday, the Lady Toppers will play 36 holes for the first and second rounds of the tournament. WKU will finish things up on Tuesday as the squad will play 18 holes for the final round of the tournament.
In its most recent tournament of the season, WKU brought home their fifth top-five finish of the season. Led by seniors Mary Joiner and Megan Clarke, the Lady Toppers are finding their stride with the veteran leadership.
The Lady Toppers are coming off of a tie against the No. 25 ranked Louisville in the Battle of the Bluegrass. Joiner and freshman Rachel Rich each won the team a point in the matchup, while Clarke and Sarah Arnold earned half points to secure the 3.0-3.0 tie.
Starting things off for the Lady Toppers at the UNF Collegiate, Joiner will remain in the top spot of the lineup after displaying a strong performance against Louisville. Joiner won her match 2 Up against the Cardinals, along with leading the team at 3-over in the First Coast Classic.
Next up is captain Clarke as she will compete in the two-spot at the UNF Collegiate.
Rounding out the rest of the lineup, senior Olivia Reed will be competing in the third spot, followed by Arnold in the fourth. In the fifth spot will be Rich, who is coming off of a full point win in her match versus Louisville.
Redshirt senior Teri Doss and Freshman Addie Westbrook will be competing in the Collegiate as individuals this week.
The tournament field is comprised of 17 teams including WKU. The Lady Toppers will be joined by host North Florida, EKU, Troy, Murray State, Florida Gulf Coast, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Daytona State College, Sam Houston, Mercer, Delaware, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, South Alabama, Stetson and Xavier.
