BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Hilltopper Basketball begins Conference USA Bonus Play against Charlotte at 6 p.m. CT Saturday at E.A. Diddle Arena. The game will stream online on CBS Sports Network on Facebook Watch.

Winners of four straight, the Hilltoppers are just one game out of first place in the league standings entering the final stretch.

Charlotte lost two games on the road at North Texas and Rice last week. WKU is 21-10 all-time against the 49ers, including an 80-63 home win this season on Jan. 18. Head coach Rick Stansbury is 7-2 in his career against Charlotte.

• WKU has trailed in the second half of seven of its 11 Conference USA wins this season, including both road victories last week at UTEP and UTSA.

• WKU ranks second in Conference USA and 30th in the nation by holding opponents to 29.6 percent from 3-point range. That mark would be the lowest 3-point defensive percentage in program history.

• WKU has made 130 more free throws (448) than its opponents have even attempted (318) through 26 games.

• In the last 12 games, junior guard Taveion Hollingsworth is averaging 18.2 points per game while shooting 85 percent (68 of 80) from the free-throw line. Hollingsworth now ranks 18th in WKU history in all-time scoring, as well as ninth in career games started and 10th in career minutes.

• Redshirt senior Jared Savage was named C-USA Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 19 points and 12.5 rebounds in road wins at UTEP and UTSA. In the last six games, Savage is averaging 10.8 rebounds.

• Junior guard Josh Anderson entered the starting lineup after Charles Bassey's injury. After reaching double figures in two of the first nine games of the year, Anderson has scored at least 10 points in 13 of the last 17.

• As of Thursday, WKU ranked seventh nationally in free-throw percentage (78.5), 12th in free throws made (448), fifth in fouls per game (13.6), 62nd in scoring offense (75.7 ppg) and 47th in free-throw attempts (571).

Taveion Hollingsworth tied his career high with 30 points, and WKU made 27 of 31 free throws to hand Charlotte its first conference loss with an 80-63 victory at E.A. Diddle Arena.
Â
Hollingsworth sank 13 of 13 free throws himself, setting the tone as the Hilltoppers dominated the second half. It was the first time the junior guard has reached 30 points since his freshman season.

Jared Savage scored 20 points and knocked down 10 of 12 free throws. He also blocked three shots and handed out three assists with five rebounds. Carson Williams finished with 15 points, six rebounds and three assists, reaching the 1,000-point career plateau in the second half.
