BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Hilltopper Basketball redshirt junior guard Teagan Moore has been named the Conference USA Preseason Player of the Year by Chris Dortch's Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, the publication announced in its preseason forecast.
Moore was also selected to Blue Ribbon's five-player preseason All-CUSA Team, while the Hilltoppers were picked to finish second in CUSA entering the 2026-27 season.
The Dry Ridge, Kentucky, native is coming off one of the most productive individual campaigns in recent WKU Hilltopper Basketball history. In 2025-26, he appeared in 27 games and made 25 starts, averaging 18.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Moore shot 52.9% from the field, 42.9% from 3-point range and 80.0% from the free throw line.
Moore ranked second in CUSA in scoring and third in field goal percentage, reaching double figures in 23 of his 27 appearances. He scored at least 15 points 22 times and produced 13 20-point performances. Moore's 18.7 points per game marked WKU's highest single-season scoring average since Courtney Lee averaged 20.4 points per contest during the 2007-08 season.
After returning from a five-game midseason absence, Moore helped lead the Hilltoppers to a five-game winning streak. During that stretch, he averaged 24.6 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 63.8% from the field, 64.3% from beyond the arc and 80.0% at the free throw line.
His play during the season also resulted in consecutive CUSA Player of the Week honors following a four-game winning stretch that featured road victories at Delaware and Liberty and home wins against New Mexico State and UTEP.
Moore closed the 2025-26 season with 27 points, seven rebounds and two assists in WKU's CUSA Championship quarterfinal contest against eventual tournament champion Kennesaw State on March 12. He was named to the All-CUSA First Team and earned NABC All-District Second Team recognition.
WKU will officially open the 2026-27 season on Monday, Nov. 2, when the Hilltoppers host Morehead State at E.A. Diddle Arena. The opener follows a pair of exhibition contests, beginning Oct. 20 against Bowling Green inside Diddle Arena before WKU faces Indiana on Oct. 25 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Season tickets for WKU Hilltopper Basketball are on sale now for the 2026-27 season, with men's basketball season tickets starting at $75 per seat, plus an additional HAF donation.
