BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Softball will open its 2020 home slate with a 14-game homestand, commencing with the Hilltopper Classic this Friday-Sunday. Green Bay, Indiana State and Ball State will visit The Hill for the first of back-to-back weekend tournaments in Bowling Green. Any schedule changes will be communicated through WKUSports.com and the WKU Softball social media platforms.

SCOUTING GREEN BAY
WKU's first opponent of the weekend, Green Bay, enters its Thursday doubleheader at UT-Martin with a 3-5 overall record featuring wins over Loyola Chicago, Marist and Western Michigan. Last season, the Phoenix went 12-29 overall. WKU and Green Bay have met three times prior to this weekend with the Red and White owning a 2-1 lead in the all-time series, winning the last two decisions.
LOOKING AT INDIANA STATE
Indiana State also competed in last weekend's Chattanooga Challenge, going 1-4 against its competition from the field. The Sycamores (3-6) picked up an 8-6 victory over Bowling Green while dropping decisions to Tennessee Tech (six innings), Ohio, at Chattanooga and Marshall (five innings). Indiana State claimed one of its three wins on the season in its opener, earning a 2-1 decision over No. 25/23 Wisconsin. The Sycamores also competed in last season's Hilltopper Classic with WKU claiming a 9-7 decision to take a 9-1 lead in the all-time series. WKU is 9-0 when facing Indiana State in Bowling Green. The Sycamores finished the 2019 campaign with a 19-35 record.
BALL STATE SCOUTING REPORT
WKU's first opponent on Saturday, Ball State enters the weekend tournament with a 5-5 record. A common opponent between WKU and the Cardinals is North Florida, a squad both sides split two games against. BSU suffered losses to UTSA and at No. 8 Louisiana before picking up its first win of the season against Prairie View A&M. The last meeting between WKU and Ball State came during the 2016 campaign when the Cardinals earned the lone run-rule decision in the all-time series that the Hilltoppers lead by a 4-2 margin. Last season, Ball State put together a 34-20 overall record.
TICKETS & PARKING
Single-day admission can be purchased for $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3-12 (free on Sunday). WKU students can receive free admission by showing their student ID. Additionally, Flexible Ticket Packages are available for $35 for 27 vouchers and can be used for all regular-season games including the Hilltopper Classic.
Spectator parking will be available in the Creason lot (not PS3).
PROMOTIONS
For the Hilltoppers' home-opening doubleheader on Friday, there will be 2020 schedule magnets for the first 250 fans. Additionally, every home Friday this season will feature Friday Freebies where fans can enter to win a surprise.
This Sunday, and every Sunday this season, will be Sunday Funday, featuring free admission for all kids 12 and under and there will be a $5 kid's meal offered at the concession stand. Sundays will also double as Faith & Family Day all year as fans can receive free admission by bringing their church bulletin to the ticket window.
