THE SCHEDULE
- The Hilltoppers will open their series on Friday, Feb. 21 with a 3 p.m. CT matchup against Wright State.
- WKU will play game two against the Raiders at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22.
- The Hilltoppers will close out their series with Wright State on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m.
PROMOTIONS
- The three-game series will feature a Faculty and Staff Weekend promotion, with WKU faculty and staff members receiving two free tickets for each contest of the series.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Hilltoppers earned a 7-6 victory over Murray State on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Nick Denes Field.
- Dalton Shoemake picked up his second win of the season after relieving starter Riley Boyd, while Bailey Sutton collected his first save of the year.
- Offensively, Ray Zuberer III led the team with a 2-for-4 effort, including a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth that gave the Hilltoppers the cushion they needed to come away with a win.
SERIES HISTORY
- WKU and Wright State have faced each other just four times in program history, with the Hilltoppers owning a 3-1 all-time series edge.
- All four of the teams' meetings came in 2003, with WKU recording wins in the first three contests before the Raiders took game four of the series.
- The Hilltoppers have had an average win margin of 5.3 runs in its three victories against Wright State.
SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
- The Hilltoppers are 3-1 on the year, with two wins against Valpo and one victory against Murray State so far this season.
- Offensively, the squad is hitting .254 through four games. The Hilltoppers currently have four players hitting over .300 on the season, with Kevin Lambert leading the way at .357.
- On the mound, WKU boasts an impressive 2.92 ERA while striking out 38 batters in 37.0 innings. Jake Kates currently paces the squad with 10 strikeouts, followed closely behind by Michael Darrell-Hicks with eight and Shoemake with seven.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
- The Raiders are currently 1-3 on the season, most recently recording an upset victory over No. 3 Louisville via a 10-3 win on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
- Wright State finished the 2019 season with a 42-17 (22-8 Horizon) record and was receiving votes in the final USA Today Coaches Poll.
- Through four games, the Raiders are currently batting .239 as a team. The squad has three players hitting .375 or better on the year, led by Quincy Hamilton at .467.
- On the bump, Wright State currently owns a 5.18 ERA. The team's three probable starters for this weekend's series – Daniel Kreuzer, Bradley Brehmer and Austin Cline – are a combined 0-3 on the year with a 10.85 ERA.
