BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Baseball wrapped up it Fall World Series Tuesday afternoon, with Team Red picking up a 4-2 victory in the series finale.

The win was Team Red's first of the three-game matchup, with Team Black having already secured the series victory after winning the first two games last week.

"Last week it was tough taking two losses from the Black Team," said Team Red Special Assistant Davis Sims. "We just wanted to come out today and put a W up on the win column, but mostly we just wanted to come out here and play hard."

Team Red utilized five pitchers to collect its first victory of the series in Michael Darrell-Hicks, Logan Sabo, Ryan Luckett, AJ Peter and Drew Strohm. Darrell-Hicks, Sabo, Luckett and Peter tossed four frames of scoreless ball, with Darrell-Hicks and Sabo adding one strikeout apiece, before Strohm came in to close things out.

Offensively, Hunter Evans produced a 1-for-3 effort for Team Red while collecting a two-run long ball. Matt Meyer added a 1-for-2 performance to go along with a sac fly, while Justin Carlin contributed a 1-for-2 outing with a double and a walk.

Team Black saw a total of seven pitchers take the mound in Riley Boyd, Bailey Sutton, Dalton Mesaris, Jack Lambert, Eric Crawford, Connor Stephens and Jake Kates. Boyd, Sutton, Lambert, Crawford and Kates all through scoreless frames in the contest, with Crawford adding two strikeouts in his lone inning of work.

At the plate, Kevin Lambert led the way with a 2-for-2 outing while also being hit by a pitch. Five other players also recorded hits in the contest, with Kates, Jackson Swiney, Sam McElreath, Jacob Jenkins and Joe Howard all collecting one hit apiece.

"As far as just the draft and everything, we all have a great time with [the Fall World Series]," said Team Black Special Assistant McElreath. "It kind of caps off the fall in a great way. We're able to compete against each other and there's definitely a little bragging rights through the rest of the fall."
