BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Baseball finished out game two of its intersquad Fall World Series Friday afternoon, with Team Black recording a 7-3 victory in the matchup.

The win was Team Black's second in as many games, giving them a 2-0 edge and the mathematical series victory.

"Just got to give it up to our team captain Kevin Lambert," said Team Black General Manager Bailey Sutton. "He just really picked a great squad and put together the lineup perfectly. He's also been producing on both sides as a fielder and a hitter, so having a guy like that lead your team is all you can ask for."

Team Black utilized five pitchers in the contest, with Hunter Crosby, Riley Boyd, Drew Strohm, Eric Crawford and Sutton each getting opportunities on the mound. Strohm and Crawford combined for 2.1 innings of scoreless ball in the matchup, with Strohm collecting three strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work and Crawford whiffing one batter in 0.2 frames.

Team Black also produced another productive outing offensively, getting key contributions from multiple batters. Sam McElreath led the way, posting a 3-for-3 showing while adding one long ball and two RBI. Tanner Johnson contributed a 2-for-2 showing to go along with a walk and RBI, while Junior Coleman went 2-for-3 with a stolen base.

Team Red saw four pitchers on the bump in Sean Bergeron, Logan Sabo, Price Adams and Lane Diuguid. Diuguid closed things out for his squad, recording two strikeouts in the final frame.

Team Red found a better rhythm offensively compared to the series opener, spreading hits amongst seven different batters. Ray Zuberer III, Richard Constantine, Justin Carlin, Matt Meyer, Eric Riffe, Aidan Elias and Brandon Tucker each collected one hit apiece in the contest.

"I just think we need to get out of the gates better," said Team Red General Manager Michael Darrell-Hicks of the adjustments needed heading into the series finale. "Pitching hasn't been great for us out of the gates, so we just need our starter to get going and throw strikes and not give up runs in the first inning."

The squads will close out their Fall World Series at 3:30 p.m. CT Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Nick Denes Field.
