BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Coming off a solid 2019 opener last weekend, the WKU Track and Field squads are set to make their first of two indoor trips to Music City with the Vanderbilt Invitational on deck for the weekend. The Red and White will be among 25 schools represented at the two-day outing.

The Vanderbilt Invitational will kick off on Friday with field events at 4 p.m. CT, while running competition will begin at 7 p.m. from the Commodores' Multipurpose Facility. On Saturday, running events will resume at 10 a.m. with field events soon after at 10:30 a.m. Â Results will be available here.

Collectively, 36 Hilltoppers and Lady Toppers are slated to compete at the two-day outing. Fifteen Lady Toppers will represent the Red and White while 21 Hilltoppers make the trip into SEC country. WKU has representatives entered in 24 different events on the weekend.

In addition to WKU and Vanderbilt, Alabama, Auburn, Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, Ball State, Kentucky, Belmont, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Furman, Georgia Tech, Lipscomb, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, SMU, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UAB will be present at the weekend outing.

Last weekend, head coach Erik Jenkins saw his squads combine for 28 top-10 marks at the Gene Edmonds Open. WKU brought home three event titles including Oliver Alexandre's 600-meter crown, Myesha Nott's triple jump title and the top finish in the men's 4x400-meter relay. The relay unit put up a time that ranked in the NCAA's top-10 marks at 3:11.47.

Alexandre was honored by the Conference USA office as the Male Track Athlete of the Week following a meet that saw him compete in three events and come away with two personal bests and two event crowns. The senior also notched a school record 600-meter time of 1:19.54.
