BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The WKU women's soccer program has announced its 2016 summer camp dates and times. The Hilltopper Soccer Academy will host four camps this summer, including an Elite Individual and Goalkeeper Camp (July 8-10), Girl's Competition Camp (July 10), Girl's Team Camp (July 10-14) and a Half Day Camp (July 18-22).
The Elite Individual and Goalkeeper Camp is for players in grades 7th-12th. The camp focuses on advanced training and small-sided games to improve the technical aspects of play. For goalkeepers, they will experience advanced individual training to improve footwork, angles, shot-stopping ability, diving, distribution and defensive organization.
The Girl's Competition Camp is for players in grades 7th-12th as well. The camp day consists of small-sided 7v7 tournaments in a fast-paced championship format. Teams will play a minimum of four games in a competitive and exciting environment.
The Girl's Team Camp is meant to prepare high school and club teams and individuals players for the upcoming season through instructional sessions and a championship tournament.
The Half Day Camp is for boys and girls ages 5-12 and goes on from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The campers will be grouped by age and skill level and will participate in daily activities in a fun and challenging environment with emphasis on individual soccer technique, team-building and sportsmanship values.
