BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU women's golf head coach Adam Gary announced Monday the signings of Caroline Cavin (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Megan Clarke (Heckmondwike, England) to national letters of intent for the 2017-18 season.
"We are really excited to add Megan and Caroline to our program," Gary said. "They are both hard-working and dedicated on the course and in the classroom. Megan works with a highly accomplished instructor in England and brings lots of competitive experience with her to the Hill. Caroline is a multi-sport athlete that has a lot of power and leadership qualities that will help the team. We are excited about the future of the Lady Topper Golf Team."
Cavin was a four-year starter at Christian Academy of Knoxville, where the team made appearances in the TSSAA DI A-AA state tournament in each of those seasons. Cavin helped CAK win back-to-back state titles in 2015 and 2016 and was the state individual medalist as a senior.
She was named all-district all four years of high school (district medalist as a senior) and all-region for three years (region medalist last two years), as well as All-KIL in her first three seasons and First Team Prep Extra as a sophomore and junior.
Cavin was an all-state selection in her three final years.
She was also a three-year starter for CAK's softball program, where she earned all-district honors and won a state championship in 2016.
Clarke has been one of the top junior golfers in Yorkshire County, England, for several years, winning multiple tournaments. She has also won the WPGA One Series event at Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort.
Clarke is part of the Yorkshire Ladies 1st Team and has trained with the England Under-16 squad. She carries a stroke average of 75 and a low score of 69 while studying at Heckwondwike Grammar School Sixth Form.
