BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With preseason exhibitions on the horizon this weekend WKU Soccer has announced its promotions for the 2014 season, which features numerous opportunities for free giveaways and tickets at the WKU Soccer Complex.
The Lady Toppers open up the home portion of their inaugural Conference USA campaign on Aug. 24 against Mercer with a Team Appreciation Day. All area high school soccer teams will receive free admission to the home opener by faxing a team roster to Katy Murphree (270-745-6830) prior to the contest. WKU’s match versus Mercer will also feature $1 hot dogs at the Centerplate Concessions stand.
Any Big Red’s Rascals member or WKU Soccer camper gets free admission to the Lady Toppers’ Sept. 5 match against Tennessee and can purchase additional tickets for friends and family for $3. The first 150 fans to the game will receive a free WKU Soccer scarf.
WKU’s Sept. 7 match against Evansville will be Faculty and Staff Day as all WKU faculty and staff will receive a pair of complimentary tickets when they show their WKU ID at the ticket booth. Members of the WKU Gatton Academy will also be honored on the field at halftime of the game.
The Lady Toppers make their home C-USA debut on Oct. 5 versus preseason league favorite Charlotte and the first 100 fans at the WKU Soccer Complex will get a free Conference USA t-shirt. Fans who bring their WKU Football ticket from the Oct. 4 home game against UAB to the WKU Soccer ticket booth will receive free admission to the match.
Hilltopper Athletic Foundation Members will receive two complimentary tickets to WKU’s Oct. 10 match against UTEP by showing their HAF membership card at the ticket booth. WKU faculty and staff members will also receive a pair of complimentary tickets to this match and each Lady Topper can invite a staff member to be honored on the field during the contest.
Girl scouts along with fans who present church bulletins at the WKU Soccer Complex on Oct. 12 will get free admission when the Lady Toppers battle UTSA. Friends and family of girl scouts can also purchase additional tickets for $3. The first 200 fans to the match will also receive free face tattoos.
WKU will host its annual “Kick For Pink” match benefitting the Friend of Jaclyn Foundation on Oct. 17 when rival Middle Tennessee visits Bowling Green. Donations for Friends of Jaclyn will be accepted at the gate and the first 100 fans will receive free pink pom-poms. Members of the WKU Honors College will also be honored at halftime of the match.
The Lady Toppers close out their home schedule on Oct. 19 versus UAB on Senior Day, where midfielder Allie Auscherman will be honored on the field before the game. Members of Athletes Supporting Athletes will also be recognized at halftime of the match.
