BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - A trio of Western Kentucky University divers are set to compete at the NCAA Zone C Diving Qualifier beginning Thursday, March 13 at Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Sophomore Giorgi Meyer will compete in his second Zone event after qualifying last season. Joining him are freshmen Amy Crayne and Madison Rylee from the women's side.
The event, which sends divers to the NCAA Diving Championship, begins with women's one meter and men's three meter at noon CT on Thursday. Friday's competition also starts at noon CT when the men and women switch boards before closing out on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT with platform for both.
Live results will be available at and divemeets.com.
Meyer qualified for Zones in the first meet of the season after posting a school-record 335.10 on the one-meter board against Delta State. He is coming off of a great meet at the Conference USA Men's Invitational, winning the one meter with a score of 307.50 while taking second on the three meter and third on platform.
At last year's Zone meet, Meyer finished 21st on the one-meter evaluations, just three spots shy of qualifying for the finals.
Crayne and Rylee will be competing in their first postseason action after hitting qualifying marks early in the regular season.
Crayne is having a stellar freshman season, being named C-USA Diver of the Week four times this year. Crayne holds the school record on the platform event after placing fifth at the C-USA Championships with a score of 200.70. She also finished third on the one meter with 263.30 points.
Rylee is also having a strong first season on The Hill. The Kentucky native swept the boards in the team's regular-season finale before finishing ninth on platform and placing 14th on the one meter.
