IRVING, Texas -With three NCAA B-cut times and a school record set over the weekend, WKU swimmer Nadine Laemmler earned Conference USA's Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Laemmler swam against some of the best competition in the nation at the USA Swimming AT&T Winter Nationals. The German's top mark was her time of 1:54.80 in the 200 back, bettering the school record she set last season of 1:55.36. The time is good for tops in C-USA this season, as it set her 10th overall at the competition.
The sophomore also finished with a time of 53.46 in the 100 back, just .08 of a second behind her top conference time this season, placing her 12th overall. She also finished 12th in the 200 IM after stopping the clock in 1:59.58.
The C-USA Swimmer of the Week honor is the first of Laemmler's career, joining Claire Conlon as the Lady Toppers honored by the league this season. Laemmler was named C-USA's Newcomer of the Year last year.
