WKU trailed the Rebels by 17 with 2:02 to go in the first half and by 13 at halftime before storming back to pick up a key non-conference win with a 49-point second half. In the game, WKU recorded its first positive assist-to-turnover ratio of the season with 18 assists to just nine turnovers, and the Hilltoppers went 15-for-15 from the free throw line in the second half to seal the victory.
WKU has won both prior meetings with Chicago State, and the Cougars' head coach, Tracy Dildy, is the brother of former Hilltopper Kevin Dildy, who lettered at WKU from 1979-82 and was a part of two NCAA Tournament teams and one NIT team under head coaches Gene Keady and Clem Haskins.
After the game against Chicago State, WKU welcomes fourth-ranked Louisville to E.A. Diddle Arena Saturday morning at 11:00 (CT) in a game that will be televised nationally on Fox Sports 1. Louisville will become the highest-ranked team to play at E.A. Diddle Arena since No. 2 Georgetown on Dec. 4, 1982.
