BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Four WKU golfers finished in the top 20 of the 2013 Kentucky State Amateur Championship, presented by PNC Bank, today at Bowling Green Country Club.
Taylor Thompson finished in a tie for fifth overall while Cameron Beal and Brandon Beckham finished in a tie for 11th. Andy Gladden rounded out the current Hilltoppers in the top 20 by finishing 17th.
Thompson was one of just six players to finish the tournament under par.
"I am very proud of what our players accomplished this week at the State Amateur," said head coach Phillip Hatchett. "Led by returning sophomore>Taylor Thompson's performance, it is clear our guys are working hard in the offseason as many of our guys finished strong. With the summer season for these guys well underway individually, I look forward to seeing how it translates this fall on the course for us."
